teelangó means candlelight but it holds a special place in our history. 45 years ago my father was a forester in some of the remotest parts of the world.
He met people from all walks of life, during this time he met a man who was from the pacific islands.
His story and life had led him to take work wherever he could for his family. One evening while talking he told my father that he always added a word to the bottom of his letters back home.
It represented his love and enduring passion for his family and it could not be extinguished wherever he was.
That word was teelangó.
My father was so touched he told us the story and he would add it to the letters he sent to my mother when he was away.
So when it came to naming our company it was no contest. To us it represents a personal connection, our passion and real care in everything we do.
